Summary

This two-year mixed-methods study is the first in Australia to develop, trial and evaluate a scalable and sustainable intervention to ban the sale of energy drinks to children. It was initiated by local community members in Bridgetown, WA who were concerned about a rise in the numbers of young people consuming energy drinks and the associated adverse health effects associated with these highly caffeinated drinks.
