Consumer and Community Involvement

Consumer and Community Involvement

The Nutrition and Health Innovation Research Institute (NHIRI) prioritises consumer and community involvement (CCI) in research, to shape research priorities and ensure that findings align with public health needs.

Beyond academic and industry engagement, NHIRI prioritises CCI as a cornerstone of its research approach. NHIRI recognises that meaningful CCI strengthens research by ensuring priorities, processes, and outputs are relevant, inclusive, and impactful.

CCI at NHIRI is embedded through project‑specific consumer groups, research buddies, and consumer representatives, supporting co‑designed research. Consumers may be involved across all stages of research, including design, implementation, dissemination, and advocacy.
