Summary:

The TREK2School study aims to investigate Perth students active school transport, their use of food outlets enroute to/from school and the association of the food environment around schools with their dietary intake, perceptions of the food environment and food purchasing behaviour. The study will include a survey of students’ socio-demographic factors, transport mode, dietary intake, perceptions of the food environments, food purchasing behaviour and use of fast-food outlets located near their school. Researchers will compare the results for students that go to schools located close to ‘healthy’ versus ‘unhealthy’ food environments.
