BoneBoost Gelato Study
BoneBoost Gelato Study

Are you at risk of osteoporosis, falls and fractures? Researchers from ECU’s Nutrition and Health Innovation Research Institute need your help!
ECU researchers are inviting women aged 60-80 years old to participate in The BoneBoost Gelato Study, which seeks to assess the impact of consuming a nutrient-rich gelato on bone health.
What does participation involve?
To determine whether you are eligible to participate in this study, we will ask you some questions about your health, diet and medication use on the phone (this is known as pre-screening). If you are considered eligible and are interested in participating, send you an information pack and a link to a formal screening and informed consent questionnaire.
If you meet the criteria and agree to participate, we will ask you to attend 3 visits in total over 8 weeks to the Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) Research Foundation Building and PathWest – RPH. Throughout 4 weeks, you will be requested to consume one serve (~100g) of the nutrient-rich BoneBoost Gelato each day.
