Wise & Well Study

Wise & Well study

ARE YOU AT RISK OF DEMENTIA, HEART DISEASE OR FALLS AND FRACTURES?

Volunteers are invited to participate in the Wise & Well Study which seeks to assess the health impacts of a diet and lifestyle behaviour change program. We are seeking woman aged between 60 and 80 years to participate in a 12 month study.

What does participation involve?

To determine whether you are eligible to participate in this study, we will ask you some questions about your health and medication use on the phone (this is known as pre-screening). If you are considered eligible and are interested in participating, we will organize a physical screening visit and send you an information pack.

If you meet the criteria and agree to participate, we will ask you to attend 7 visits in total over 12 months to the RPH Research Foundation Building and the Bone Density Unit – Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH).

The Wise & Well Study seeks to assess the impact of a behaviour change program looking at:

  • improving diet
  • increasing physical activity
  • improving other lifestyle factors

that contribute to risk of disease as we age.
